Monday II
I haven't learned much Italian, but I'm getting better at the Roman numerals on everything. Had to think waaay back to grade school for that info. Your comments have been highly entertaining-almost worth going to Italy for. Keep up the good work. Brian is at home now drinking wine after a grueling day of driving the straight-up hairpin roads.Joanne is shopping for supper,Laurie and I are glogging, Ray says he and Brian and Mike are going to drink wine and then try to fix the door of the rental van which seems to have gone off its rails.

Ah yes, wine first, then the mechanical work on the rented vehicle! Remind dad to use the number XVII wrench for the door - it's one of those things you hear like CCCXLIV times but you always need those reminders.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better, mom.
By the way, May the 4th be with you. All of you.
ReplyDeleteTom reminds me of Joseph's comment when we hung our new print of "The Creation" over the head of our bed. "Now you'll have to watch out for the fall of Adam."
ReplyDeleteIs it permissible for inebriated foreigner to fiddle with rented vehicles? What happens to your insurance if the door falls off permanently? Surely your Saskatchewan Motor Association membership will work with the Automobile Club d'Italia.

I think it's encouraged to be inebriated before attempting hard things. This is a civilised country.By the way,the door is fixed.
ReplyDeleteIt's always worthwhile to drink some wine before work. Take me; I drink at least a bottle before I teach children. I'm rubbish without it.

It takes the edge off of grammar lessons, that's for sure. You can also teach slurred speech as its own register. Very practical.
